Morgan presented at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show an electric version of its three-wheeler called EV3. Now, thanks to a technical partnership with Frazer-Nash Energy Systems, the concept is ready to enter production at Morgan’s Malvern factory. The EV3 will be the first production Morgan to be powered by an electric motor, and it will also be the first car to be released from the factory with composite body panels. As a result of the tech partnership, the EV3 will feature an all-new architecture, an improved torque output, a stiffer chassis and a battery mounted as low as possible beneath the car’s skin. Within the tubular space frame chassis is a 21 kWh lithium-ion battery and a liquid-cooled 34.8kW (41.8kW peak) electric motor driving the single rear wheel. The EV3 will have a range of 120 miles and it’ll enter production in the third quarter of 2018.

Al Motor Show di Ginevra 2016 Morgan ha presentato una versione elettrica della sua 3 ruote alla quale ha dato nome EV3. Ora, grazie ad una partnership tecnica con Frazer-Nash Energy Systems, il prototipo sarà pronto per entrare in produzione presso la fabbrica Morgan a Malvern. La EV3 sarà la prima vettura elettrica del marchio ed anche la prima ad avere pannelli della carrozzeria in meteriali composite. Come ulteriore risultato della partnership la EV3 avrà un’architettura innovativa, un’erogazione di coppia superiore, un telaio rinforzato e il pacco batterie montato il più in basso possibile sotto la pelle dell’auto. Nel telaio trovano posto una batteria agli Ioni di Litio da 21 kWh e un motore elettrico raffredato a liquido da 34.8kW (41.8kW di picco) che lavora sulla sola ruota posteriore. La EV3 avrà un’autonomia di 120 miglia (circa 194km) ed entrerà in produzione nel terzo trimestre del 2018.
