One of the main protagonists at the 2017 EICMA was a beautiful Italian electric motorbike: the Energica EVA EsseEsse9. Sister of the already-known EVA with a more classic style. The company based in Modena, in the Italian Motor Valley, has presented this new version with its round headlight, is made for lovers of classic naked but keeps all the DNA of a brand that, among the first ones, has been able to put on the market high performance electric motorbikes such as the Ego. EsseEsse9 is also available in a more exclusive variant named Special with number plates on the sides that recalls the cafe racer tradition. Typical in the top made in Italy, the bike is made and customizable with tailor-made care, also choosing the type of rims and shock absorbers (optional Ohlins set with front fork and mono shock absorber at the rear). The oil-cooled engine with permanent magnets gives about 109HP and allows to reach 200 km/h, the (11.7kWh) Lithium polymer batteries allow a maximum range of about 200km. Tesla moves forward, despite everything and everyone, despite the real or alleged alarms on its financial troubles, the brand that has brought electric mobility to the next level is under pressure. And here comes from Elon’s magic cylinder, not one but two tasty news. The first is the most announced electric truck by Tesla, named Tesla Semi. According to what Tesla says, at highway speeds and full load, the electric truck should have a range of 800 km per single charge. Thanks to the new Megacharger powered by solar panels, it will recharge power for over 640 km in 30 minutes. Of course, comparison with the current traditional trucks is hard considering that they can run up to 1600 km with only one refueling, you must see these data from the American point of view: in fact about 30% of US transport is on a regional scale with 200 miles range: that is (at least for now) the reference market, Musk then plays the comfort and safety options, thanks to a specific version of the Autopilot system, which keeps the vehicle in lane, speed and distance from other vehicles and brakes alone in case of danger. Interesting is the loading capacity of 36 tons and the one million mile guarantee. This time, however, Tesla isn’t first in this kind of business and other builders have already presented their solutions a few months ago, Cummins Aeos and Mercedes eTruck. The start of Tesla Semi’s production is scheduled for 2019, presenting the truck Musk launched another car: the new Tesla Roadster. Numbers are stunning with 0-60MPH in 1.9 seconds, quarter mile covered in only 8.8 seconds, maximum speed at 250MPH, while the autonomy is more than 600 miles. The only problem: waiting, at least, until 2020. The new Roadster has three electric motors, one installed at the front and two at the rear, making it a true 4wd. As others 2+2 sports cars, the back space is more suitable for children or handbags, while front space should be more than enough.
