RYNO: from video games to reality

Come definire questo mezzo che pare uscito direttamente da un film di fantascienza? Il RYNO è una moto con una sola ruota, un monociclo a motore… Il RYNO è semplicemente il RYNO, la definizione tecnica la fornisce la casa nella scheda tecnica con: micro-cycle. Nato quasi per caso prendendo spunto da un videogioco e sviluppato in sette anni fino a diventare una realtà. Sicuramente è l’estrema sintesi di quello che potrebbe essere il mezzo di trasporto individuale urbano: compatto, agile ed ecologico. Infatti il RYNO è un mezzo elettrico che si muove su di una sola ruota grazie ad un sofisticato sistema giroscopico, un accelerometro ed un sensore di movimento, non c’è sterzo, in realtà il RYNO percepisce i movimenti del conducente e reagisce di conseguenza. Può percorrere fino a 24 km con una sola ricarica delle due piccole batterie nascoste all’interno della ruota assieme al motore. Le batterie possono anche essere rapidamente e facilmente estratte e sostituite se non si ha il tempo di caricarle. Può portare fino a 118kg e raggiunge una velocità di 16 km/h. Se state cercando un mezzo per muovervi agilmente in città il RYNO potrebbe essere la soluzione. La RYNO Motors lo produce in Oregon (USA) e lo vende a 5295$ (circa 4200 euro).

Cezeta Type 506: Czech elettroshock

Non solo USA, nel mondo della mobilità green c’è posto per tutti. Il Type 506 della Čezeta Motors s.r.o. viene dalla repubblica Ceca (Praga) e riprende lo stile dei suoi storici predecessori (type 501 e 502) di fine anni 50 ma aggiungendo la motorizzazione elettrica con potenza di 5 kW alimentata da un pacco batterie agli ioni di Litio (LiFeYPO4) da 4,8 kWh che permette un’autonomia di circa 100 km. Il mezzo ha un caricatore integrato 15A che permette una carica completa in poco meno di 5 ore. Il prezzo base di questo pezzo di design anni 50 è di 9000 euro.

Not only USA, in the world of green mobility there is room for everyone. The Type 506 made by Čezeta Motors s.r.o. comes from the Czech Republic (Prague) and reflects the style of its historic predecessors (type 501 and 502) produced in the end of the 50s but adding a 5 kW electric motor powered by a 4,8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack (LiFeYPO4) which allows a range of about 100 km. This ride has a built-in 15A charger that allows a full charge in less than 5 hours. The base price of this piece of design from the 50s is 9000 euro.

Quant e-Sportlimousine: follow the flow

Presentata al salone di Ginevra 2014 la svizzera Quant e-Sportlimousine è una vettura elettrica sviluppata sfruttando l’innovativa tecnologia nanoFLOWCELL composta da batterie di flusso con prestazioni stimate superiori rispetto a qualsiasi altro tipo di accumulatore oggi in commercio, unisce i pregi delle batterie elettromeccaniche ai vantaggi delle fuel cell, rivelandosi al contempo più capace, prestazionale e leggera: il rapporto di prestazioni-per-peso è cinque volte superiore rispetto ad una batteria agli ioni di litio. Questa vettura prevede infatti due serbatoi (da 200 litri) contenenti elettroliti, i quali passando attraverso una specifica membrana innescano una reazione chimica che crea energia. Questo processo alimenta un accumulatore da 600 V, che a sua volta supporta quattro motori (uno per ruota) per una potenza di 653 CV. La Quant accelera così da 0 a 100 km/h in appena 2.8 secondi e può superare i 380 km/h, pur misurando ben 5.25 metri e pesando 2.3 tonnellate e garantisce un’autonomia compresa fra 400 e 600 chilometri. La e-Sportlimousine monta cerchi in lega da ben 22 pollici, mentre la struttura delle portiere (ad ala di gabbiano) rende superfluo il montante centrale. Il telaio è in fibra di carbonio ed il corpo vettura in compositi. A luglio la vettura ha ottenuto l’omologazione presso il TUV e quindi è possibile immatricolarla in tutti i paesi europei. Anche questo è un esempio di un futuro della mobilità a zero emissioni che diventa sempre più vicino e reale. Quale sarà il prossimo passo di questo prototipo?
Presented at the Geneva Motor Show 2014, the swiss Quant e-Sportlimousine is an electric car developed using the innovative technology nanoFLOWCELL that consists of flow batteries with estimated performance superior to any other type of battery on the market today, combines the advantages of standard batteries to the advantages of fuel cells. This type of batteries are the same time more capable, performing and light: the ratio “performance-to-weight” is five times higher than a lithium-ion battery. This car provides for two tanks (200 liters each) containing electrolytes, which, passing through a specific membrane trigger a chemical reaction that creates energy. This process feeds a 600 V accumulator, which supports four motors (one per wheel) for a total power of 653 HP. The Quant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 sec. and can exceed 380 km/h, while measuring 25.5 meters and weighing 2.3 tons and provides a range between 400 and 600 kilometers. The e-Sportlimousine mounts 22″ alloy wheels, while the structure of the doors (gull-wing) eliminates the B-pillar. The frame is made of carbon fiber and the car body in composites. In July, the car has been approved by the TUV and then you can register it in all European countries. Beijing ePrix: 1st Formula E race

Il 13 settembre si è tenuta a Pechino la prima delle gare del calendario della FIA Formula E, inizia così una nuova era, l’era delle monoposto a zero emissioni. Una gara combattuta fino all’ultimo giro e ricca di emozioni (nel finale uno spettacolare incidente tra Nicolas Prost e Nick Heidfeld, per fortuna senza conseguenze) che ha visto la vittoria del pilota brasiliano Lucas di Grassi del team Audi Sport ABT. Il prossimo appuntamento sarà in Malesia il 22 novembre a Putrajaya.

Tacita T-Race M: new toy will be at BBT2014 in Dubai

Per la presentazione della T-Race M, la sua prima motocicletta dedicata al supermotard, Tacita ha scelto un palcoscenico d’eccezione: il BBT2014, che si svolgerà a Dubai dal 3 al 5 ottobre. Il Big Boys Toys 2014 vedrà il lancio in anteprima mondiale di questa supermotard elettrica. Nata in edizione limitata, la T-Race M rappresenta l’ingresso di Tacita nel segmento del lusso con un oggetto creato per mostrare lo stato dell’arte della motocicletta elettrica italiana, realizzata utilizzando esclusivamente l’eccellenza della componentistica made in Italy. La moto è equipaggiata dal blocco motore Tacita, nella sua versione più evoluta accoppiato al cambio a 5 rapporti. Trattandosi di una supermotard, è stata rivista la ciclistica ed è stato potenziato il comparto freni: la moto monta una forcella Ohlins TTX, fornita dal partner italiano Andreani, completamente regolabile con setting separati per le alte e le basse velocità. Al posteriore il mono ammortizzatore, sempre marchiato Ohlins, completa il sistema di sospensione. L’impianto frenante anteriore Brembo adotta una pompa radiale così come radiale è la pinza che lavora su un disco freno da 320mm, in grado di fornire potenza e modulabilità anche nelle situazioni più difficili. Le ruote a raggi da 17″ sono fornite su specifiche Tacita dalla FA-BA, realizzate con mozzi CNC e cerchi in alluminio; montano coperture racing Pirelli (Diablo SBK), ideali per l’utilizzo in pista, nelle misure 12/70-17 all’anteriore e 160/60-17 al posteriore. Le stesse misure saranno omologate per l’utilizzo su strade aperte al pubblico, garantendo così ai fortunati clienti un’ampia scelta di coperture stradali. Grintosa e scattante allestita in nero, dato dalla fibra di carbonio delle carene, lo schema colori si completa con il bianco della sella e della cover del faro e dai dettagli anodizzati in “Rosso Tacita”. Realizzata in edizione limitata, in questo particolare allestimento verranno prodotti soltanto 5 esemplari corredati da una targhetta numerata, il primo dei quali verrà presentato in anteprima al BBT2014.

Liberty Electric Cars E-Range: green luxury SUV

Liberty Electric Cars è un’azienda inglese specializzata nella riprogettazione di veicoli di serie per creare il più affidabile, sicuro e facile da usare dei SUV 4×4 a trazione elettrica e zero emissioni e lavorano anche ad altre tipologie di veicoli. La Liberty E-Range è la prima piattaforma a cui la tecnologia è stata applicata, consentendo al cliente di godere della potenza, prestigio e lusso della lussuosa Range Rover senza danni all’ambiente. Test indipendenti hanno dimostrato che la Liberty E-Range accelera da zero a 100 in circa sette secondi, raggiunge una velocità massima di 160km all’ora e ha un’autonomia di circa 320km con una singola carica. Questo fornisce prestazioni e autonomia mai stati raggiunti nel settore del 4×4 e consente costi di esercizio significativamente più bassi rispetto alle auto con motore a combustione interna – ad esempio chi spende una media di 50 sterline a settimana a benzina vedrebbe scendere i costi a poco più di 10 sterline (media basata sul costo di esercizio di 3.92£ / km rispetto al 18.58£ / miglio). Liberty Electric Cars ha sviluppato un tipo di batteria unico, con batterie che sono più grandi rispetto a qualsiasi batteria di auto usate prima, eppure sono più leggere e potenti. La batteria ai polimeri di Litio si trova in una posizione tale che non vi è alcuna perdita di spazio interno. Works Electric ROVER: powerful green toy

Sembra un semplice monopattino ma in realtà è un brillante esempio di mezzo elettrico compatto per il tempo libero e non solo. Il Rover costruito da Works Electric è un mezzo in grado di muoversi agilmente su molti terreni grazie ad una solida e leggera costruzione in alluminio aeronautico e ruote extra large. Monta un motore trifase brushless e trasmissione a cinghia e batterie agli ioni di Litio offerte in due diverse potenze (36V e 770Wh di capacità oppure 48V e 1000Wh). La velocità (a seconda del tipo di accumulatori) varia da 45km/h e 56km/h e di pari passo cambia anche l’autonomia da 29km a 40km e il prezzo da 4950$ (circa 3800 euro) a 5750$ (circa 4500 euro). Nella pedana sono integrate la luci a led e sul manubrio un supporto per smartphone, volendo si può anche avere come opzione una sella che lo trasforma in scooter ultralight. Un mezzo simile potrebbe avere utilizzi in centri turistici come per servizi di polizia in zone pedonali o con vie d’accesso particolarmente strette. Un mezzo quindi divertente ma con potenziali utilizzi in ambiti professionali.

Lightning GT: british shocking green

La casa britannica The Lightning Car Company sta lavorando alla sua GT, una vettura dalla linea che richiama gloriose vetture del passato ma che sotto una carrozzeria di carbonio e alluminio nasconde una tecnologia più che moderna con telaio a nido d’ape in alluminio e doppio motore elettrico in grado di erogare ben 400CV! La Lightning GT accelera da 0-100 in tempi da motocicletta sportiva e raggiunge una velocità (autolimitata elettronicamente) di quasi 210km/h con un’autonomia stimata di 240km e monta un sistema di frenata rigenerativa. Questa spettacolare sportiva a zero emissioni costruita a Coventry dovrebbe entrare in produzione a fine 2015 ma il primo lotto di 50 auto è già ordinabile e ogni vettura sarà realizzata su specifiche richieste del cliente. La GT monta batterie LTO (Lithium Titanate) da 44kWh che si possono ricaricare in 15 ore da rete casalinga, in 2,5 ore con sistema di ricarica veloce e in 20 minuti con il sistema ultra veloce. Questa vettura sarà in grado di dare forti emozioni e non farà in alcun modo rimpiangere le sportive tradizionali con motore endotermico. Il piacere della guida e il rispetto dell’ambiente potranno andare di pari passo.

This car will be able to give strong emotions and will not in any way regret the traditional sportcars with gasoline engines. The driving pleasure and respect for the environment can go hand in hand.

Auto elettriche, la batteria al grafene made in Italy

200 volte più resistente dell’acciaio, conduce il calore 20 volte meglio del rame: grazie al grafene l’Istituto di Tecnologia di Genova sta sviluppando una super-batteria che durerà di più e peserà meno.

Il grafene è un materiale derivato dalla grafite, ossia dal carbonio: una sfoglia sottolissima (in pratica è bidimensionale, essendo lo spessore di un solo atomo), molto resistente, leggero e straordinario conduttore di calore. Scoperto nel 2004 da due ricercatori russi (Andre Geim e Konstantin Novoselov, Premi Nobel nel 2010), a dieci anni di distanza troverà presto un’applicazione pratica nel campo delle batterie elettriche, elemento assolutamente fondamentale nel mondo del terzo millenio. Miliardi di smartphone, tablet e portatili, milioni di auto elettriche e ibride potrebbero, nell’arco di pochi anni, essere alimentate da batterie al grafene con un’efficienza superiore del 25% rispetto a una tradizionale batteria al litio. La progettazione è frutto della ricerca dell’Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia di Genova, dove un team guidato da Vittorio Pellegrini e Bruno Scrosati ha lavorato in collaborazione con il Cnr e la Sapienza di Roma. Il procedimento, in soldoni, consiste nel creare un “inchiostro” di grafene, una sostanza liquida che viene poi spalmata sugli elettrodi delle batterie (uno strato praticamente impercettibile), consentendo alla stesse di aumentare di un quarto la capacità di carica. Tradotto in un utilizzo pratico significa che un’auto elettrica con autonomia di 150 km, ad esempio, potrebbe passare a 200 km. Inoltre si abbatterebbero notevolmente i tempi di ricarica: da ore a minuti. L’Istituto, da solo, è in grado di produrre solo pochi litri di grafene, ma recentemente è stato stretto un accordo con l’azienda comasca Directa Plus, che con 30 tonnellate all’anno è la maggiore produttrice in Europa. A quanto pare il made in Italy non è morto.
