VW I.D. Buzz Cargo: the green Van

VW will reveal at Los Angeles Auto Show 2018 the ID Buzz Cargo concept based on the MEB vehicle architecture that will be introduced by the I.D. Neo in November 2019. This Van has been engineered to take in batteries from 48 kWh (for 200 miles range) to 111 kWh. Propulsion comes from an electric drive unit integrated into the rear axle, which develops 150 kW (201HP). An all-wheel-drive configuration like the one in the I.D. Buzz is also possible thanks to the modularity of the MEB. This concept has a solar roof, which generates energy enough to extend the range of the vehicle by up to 9.3 miles a day. The wheels are 20 inches. With the help of a 150kW fast charger the 111kWh battery can be replenished up to 80% in 30 minutes.

VW presenterà al Los Angeles Auto Show 2018 il concept ID Buzz Cargo basato sull’architettura MEB che verrà introdotta dall’I.D. Neo nel 2019. Questo furgone è stato progettato per integrare batterie da 48 kWh (per 200 miglia di autonomia) a 111 kWh. La propulsione è fornita da un’unità elettrica integrata nell’asse posteriore, che sviluppa 150 kW (201 CV). Una configurazione a trazione integrale come quella dell’ID. Buzz sarà possibile grazie alla modularità del MEB. Questo prototipo ha un tetto solare, che genera energia sufficiente per estendere l’autonomia del veicolo fino a 9,3 miglia al giorno. Le ruote sono da 20 pollici. Con l’aiuto di un caricabatterie rapido da 150 kW, la batteria da 111 kWh può essere ricaricata fino all’80% in 30 minuti.

Stylish classic car with a modern heart. This cool 1949 Mercury Coupe has brand new electric powertrain with a Tesla Performance 85kWh battery and a dual motor with no transmission capable of 470 lb-ft of torque, 400HP and 120MPH top speed. This is the creation by ICON4X4, the Californian company founded and driven by Jonathan Ward, revealed at the SEMA show in Las Vegas. ICON4X4 is famous for its restomod 4X4 (Broncos, FJ) and its “Derelict” cars, classics with a fine “patina” and modern mechanical elements. This Mercury is part of the Derelict series, a unique car with untouched-looking exterior that looks cool over the greyish green paint.

Audi e-Tron: future on the road

Audi unveiled its first all electric car: the e-Tron SUV. This car will fight with the Tesla model X and the Mercedes EQC. This SUV will have a real-world range of 248 miles (400 km) according to the WLTP driving cycle. Coming in mid-2019, the E-tron will start at $74800 (65000 euro). Standard features: air suspension, 20″ wheels, LED lighting, seats with built-in heating and cooling, panoramic sunroof, inductive wireless smartphone charging. The E-tron can be optioned with Audi’s driver assistance package, massage seats, head-up display and power door closers. The car has an electric motor on each axle, so is 4wd. At the front the car has a 125kW motor, while at the rear a 140kW. In total, the car has 265kW of power, something like 350HP. It covers 0-60 mph in a little over 6 seconds (in boost mode 5.5 sec.). The “boost mode” temporarily increases power output at 300kW.

Audi ha presentato la sua prima auto totalmente elettrica: la e-Tron SUV. Questa vettura combatterà con Tesla X e con il Mercedes EQC. Avrà un’autonomia reale di 400 km in base al ciclo WLTP. Arriverà a metà del 2019, la E-tron partirà da circa 65000 euro. Caratteristiche standard: sospensioni pneumatiche, cerchi da 20 pollici, illuminazione a LED, sedili con riscaldamento e raffreddamento integrato, tetto apribile panoramico, ricarica wireless induttiva per smartphone. La E-tron potrà essere arricchita con il pacchetto di assistenza alla guida di Audi, i sedili con massaggio, head-up display e chiusura delle porte elettrica. L’auto monta un motore elettrico su ciascun asse, quindi è 4×4. All’anteriore l’auto ha un motore da 125 kW, mentre al posteriore 140 kW. In totale, l’auto ha 265 kW di potenza, qualcosa come 350 CV. Copre lo 0-100km/h in poco più di 6 secondi (in modalità boost 5.5 sec.). La “modalità boost” aumenta temporaneamente la potenza fino a 300kW.

Mercedes-Benz EQC SUV: a green new star

Mercedes unveils the EQC, the first of the new family brand: EQ.  This SUV is the Tesla model X hunter from Stuttgart. The ECQ SUV has AWD drive provided by a pair of electric motors (overall 408HP). One sits at the front and a second at the rear. Power is provided by a 80kWh Lithium-ion battery pack for a range of around 400km. To keep its promises the car has limited top speed at 180km/h (enough for your travels) and a 0-100km/k in 5.1sec (enough for your fun). On the market at half 2019 with a price (supposed) around 60000 euros.

Mercedes svela la EQC, la prima della famiglia del sub-brand EQ. Questo il SUV che da Stoccarda darà la caccia alla Tesla Model X. La EQC ha la trazione integrale fornita da un paio di motori elettrici asincroni (potenza complessiva 408CV), un motore all’anteriore e uno al posteriore. La potenza è fornita da un pacco batterie agli ioni di Litio da 80kWh per un’autonomia di circa 400km. Per mantenere le sue promesse la velocità massima è autolimitata a 180km/h (abbastanza per viaggiare) e uno 0-100 in 5,1sec (abbastanza per divertirsi). Sarà in vendita da metà 2019 con un prezzo stimato attorno ai 60000 euro.

ISDERA is back! 800HP of green power

isdera-commendatore-gt-8Isdera, the german company from the 80s, is back! The company turned up to the 2018 Beijing auto show with the Commendatore GT, a 2+2 sportscar powered by an electric powertrain. The car was unveiled in the chinese capital and is set to be produced in an extremely limited edition: 2 cars. Production is scheduled to start in 2018. Power comes from a pair of electric motors each rated at 400 horsepower. There is one of the motors at each axle to form an 4WD system, and according to Isdera the setup will guarantee 0-60 MPH acceleration in 3,7 seconds, 0-120 MPH acceleration in 9,8 seconds, and a top speed of 155 MPH despite the car weight of 3858 pounds. The car has 105 kWh battery, enough for 300 miles of range.

La casa si è fatta notare al salone dell’auto di Pechino con la Commendatore GT, una sportiva 2+2 elettrica. L’auto è stata svelata nella capitale cinese e sarà prodotta in una serie limitatissima: 2 esemplari. La produzione è pianificata per quest’anno. La spinta è garantita da 2 motori elettrici (ciascuno da 400CV), uno per asse, in modo da creare uno schema a trazione integrale, secondo il produttore questo garantisce uno scatto 0-100 Km/h in circa 3.7sec, uno 0-200 Km/h in 9.8sec e una velocità massima di 250 Km/h (autolimitata) nonstante un peso di 1750kg. L’auto è dotata di una batteria da 105kWh che consente un’autonomia di 500Km.

Volkswagen ID R, Pikes Peak challenger

World premiere of the Volkswagen I.D. R Pikes PeakVolkswagen will unveil in France on Sunday April 22 the ID R Pikes Peak, a 4WD electric-powered prototype that will be used on the 2018 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The car has been developed by VW’s motorsport division to showcase the performance capabilities of modern-day electric drive systems. A technological demo for a range of new electric-powered ID road cars that are due to begin production from the end of 2019. The machine will be shown before an on-track testing programme for its record attempt on the 156-turn, 12.42-mile mountain begins the following day. Main features: 680HP and 1100Kgs.

L’auto è stata sviluppata dalla divisione motorsport di VW per mostrare le prestazioni dei moderni sistemi di guida elettrica. Una dimostrazione tecnologica per una serie di nuove auto ID stradali elettriche che dovrebbero entrare in produzione a partire dalla fine del 2019. La macchina verrà mostrata prima di un programma di test in pista per il suo tentativo di record di scalata sul miglio in montagna che inizierà il giorno seguente. Principali caratteristiche: 680CV e 1100kg di peso.

Rimac Concept Two: 1914HP EV!

c_two_studio_RIMACThe Croatian company Rimac unveiled at Geneva Motor Show 2018 its new crazy all electric hypercar: the Concept Two. It claims to have a 1914 HP engine that enables a 0-60 MPH acceleration in 1,85 seconds. That would make it one of the quickest cars in existence. Rimac says its 120 kWh battery enables over 400 miles of range, which is a lot more than the 200 miles found in most production EVs. The car comes with Level 4 autonomous capabilities. 150 copies of the Concept Two will be built.

La casa croata Rimac ha svelato al Salone di Ginevra 2018 la sua nuova folle hypercar elettrica: la C TWO. Dichiarati ben 1914 CV di potenza che consentono un’accelerazione da 0-100km/h in 1,85 secondi. Questo dato la pone come una delle auto con la più poderosa accelerazione al mondo. Rimac riferiesce che la batteria da 120kWh permette un’autonomia di 640 Km circa, un dato ben più elevato dei soliti 300 km di molte elettriche già in produzione. L’auto è anche prevista per avere una guida autonoma di livello 4. La produzione prevista è di 150 esemplari.

Cupra e-Racer: Spanish lightning

Cupra_eRacer_frontAl Salone di Ginevra sarà presentata la Cupra e-Racer, la prima auto da turismo elettrica del nuovo brand sportivo nato da SEAT (gruppo VW). L’auto è in grado di erogare ben 408CV con un picco di 680CV: questo il primo modello al mondo da gara “full electric” per il campionato TCR.

At the Geneva International Motor Show 2018, Cupra (the new sport car brand from SEAT) will unveil the e-Racer, the first all electric turismo car. The e-Racer has 408HP and a power peak of 680HP: this is the first all electric car born for competition in TCR championship.

Microlino: the new Isetta is coming

As seen some month ago in these pages, the Microlino is coming next to production. Unveiled in Frankfurt at the IAA (Sept. 2017) the car is around for on-road tests. Here a video of the prototype.

Come mostrato in queste pagine qualche mese fa, la Microlino si avvicina alla produzione. Svelata al Salone di Francoforte (Sett. 2017) la vettura è su strada per i test. Ecco un video del prototipo.
