Totem GT Electric, a brand new classic EV

Simply fantastic. A classic cool car reborn, the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA transformed into an electric beast capable to reach 245 Km/h thanks to a new electric powertrain with 518 HP. The team of Totem Automobili (an Italian start-up founded by Riccardo Quaggio) did an extraordinary job giving to this classic from the 60s style and technology for the future. The car you see here is a totally rebuilt car using state of the art craftmanship and finest McFly technolgy able to give classic rough senstions in a cutting edge electric car. That’s the made in Italy we love!

Semplicemente fantastica. Una classica affascinante auto rinata, l’Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA si è trasformata in una belva elettrica capace di raggiungere i 245 Km/h grazie ad un nuovo propulsore elettrico da 518 CV. Il team di Totem Automobili (una start-up italiana fondata da Riccardo Quaggio) ha fatto un lavoro straordinario dando a questo classico degli anni ’60 stile e tecnologia per il futuro. L’auto che vedete qui è un’auto totalmente ricostruita utilizzando lo stato dell’arte dell’artigianato e la migliore tecnologia McFly in grado di dare le classiche sensazioni grezze in un’auto elettrica all’avanguardia. Questo è il made in Italy che amiamo!

Dacia Spring: POP EV

dacia_spring_ev_01-1And also Dacia introduces its electric car, a compact with a crossover look and price list following the brand philosophy. The style is nice but with no frills. Despite being a citycar (3.73 meters long, 1.62 meters wide and 1.51 meters high) it has a trunk of 300 liters that doubles by tipping the rear seat. The 33 kW electric motor (44 HP) is combined with a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 26.8 kWh. The range is 225 Km in the standard WLTP cycle and 295 Km in the WLTP City cycle (city driving only), you can increase the efficiency by almost 10% by simply activating the ECO function with a button on the dashboard, the power limit drops to 23 kW and the maximum speed to 100 Km/h. It will be available from spring 2021 with prices around 12,000-13,000 euros.

Ed anche Dacia introduce la sua elettrica, una compatta dal look crossover e dal listino coerente con la filosofia del marchio. Lo stile piacevole ma senza troppi fronzoli. Pur essendo una citycar (lunga 3,73 metri, larga 1,62 metri e alta 1,51 metri)  vanta un bagagliaio da ben 300 litri che raddoppiano ribaltando il sedile posteriore. Il motore elettrico da 33 kW (pari a 44 CV) è abbinato a una batteria agli ioni di litio con una capacità di 26,8 kWh. L’autonomia è di 225 Km nel ciclo WLTP standard e 295 Km nel ciclo WLTP City (solo percorrenza urbana), si può aumentare il rendimento di quasi il 10% semplicemente attivando la funzione ECO con un pulsante sul cruscotto il limite di potenza scende a 23 kW e la velocità massima a 100 Km/h. Sarà ordinabile da primavera 2021 con prezzi attorno ai 12.000-13.000 euro.

VW new EV SUV: ID4

Finally VW presented, and made it bookable, its new electric SUV built on the MEB platform (the same used for ID3): the ID4. The new model will arrive at dealerships in early 2021. The versions of the Volkswagen ID.4, planned at the beginning, will be only two, both limited edition: 1ST (First) and 1ST Max, respectively at a price of 48.600 and 58.600 euros, from which any incentives will be deducted. There will be four body colors: ice white, dusk blue, manganese grey and honey yellow. Both the versions share the same technical characteristics: a 204 HP rear electric motor, which pushes the rear wheels, with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds and a top speed (limited) of 160 km/h. The battery is 82 kWh (77 kWh effective), according to the factory data, it allows to cover 520 km per single charge.

volkswagen-id4-2020-09_27Finalmente VW ha presentato, e reso prenotabile, il suo nuovo SUV elettrico costruito sulla piattaforma MEB (la stessa di ID3): la ID4. Il nuovo modello arriverà nelle concessionarie all’inizio del 2021. Gli allestimenti della Volkswagen ID.4, previsti all’inizio, saranno solo due, entrambi edizione limitata: 1ST (First) e 1ST Max, rispettivamente ad un prezzo di 48.600 e 58.600 euro, cifre alle quali andranno detratti eventuali incentivi. Quattro le tinte della carrozzeria: bianco ghiaccio, blue dusk, grigio manganese e honey yellow. Entrambi gli allestimenti condividono le stesse caratteristiche tecniche: un motore elettrico posteriore da 204 CV, che spinge le ruote posteriori, con un’accelerazione da 0 a 100 Km/h in 8,5 secondi e una velocità massima (limitata) di 160 Km/h. La batteria è da 82 kWh (77 kWh effettivi), secondo i dati della fabbrica, consente di percorrere 520 km per singola ricarica.

Skoda Enyaq iV: Czech EV SUV

Yesterday, September 1, 2020, in Prague, Skoda unveiled the final version of its Enyaq electric SUV that uses the MEB platform of the VW group and the construction architecture of the next VW ID4. The lineup will have diferent versions: the Enyaq iV 50, with an electric motor mounted on the rear axle, delivering 146 HP (109 kW), and a 55 kWh battery for a range of 211 miles (340 Km). The Enyaq iV 60 with 242 miles (390 Km) range with the 62 kWh battery, and a 178 HP (132 kW) motor. The Enyaq iV 80 with a 210 HP (150 kW) motor and an 82 kWh battery that will have a range up to 310 miles (500 Km). Those looking for 4WD electric SUV will be able to choose between the 80X and RS versions, which mount a second electric motor on the front axle, for a total output of 262 HP (195 kW) and 302 HP (225 kW) respectively. The Enyaq iV RS will accelerate to 62 MPH (100 Km/h) in 6.2 seconds before reaching the top speed at 112 MPH (180 Km/h). Both the RS and 80X will have a range of 286 miles (460 Km) on a single charge. It will arrive in spring 2021.

Ieri, 1 settembre 2020, a Praga, Skoda ha presentato la versione finale del suo SUV elettrico Enyaq che utilizza la piattaforma MEB del gruppo VW e l’architettura costruttiva del prossimo VW ID4. La gamma avrà diverse versioni: l’Enyaq iV 50, con un motore elettrico montato sull’asse posteriore, che eroga 146 CV (109 kW) e una batteria da 55 kWh per un’autonomia di circa 340 Km. L’Enyaq iV 60 con un’autonomia di circa 390 Km con la batteria da 62 kWh e un motore da 178 CV (132 kW). L’Enyaq iV 80 con un motore da 210 CV (150 kW) e una batteria da 82 kWh che avrà un’autonomia fino a 500 Km. Chi cerca un SUV elettrico a trazione integrale potrà scegliere tra le versioni 80X e RS, che montano un secondo motore elettrico all’asse anteriore, per una potenza complessiva rispettivamente di 262 CV (195 kW) e 302 CV (225 kW). L’Enyaq iV RS accelererà da 0-100 Km/h in 6,2 secondi prima di raggiungere la velocità massima di 180 Km/h. Sia l’RS che l’80X avranno un’autonomia di 460 Km con una sola ricarica. Arriverà nella primavera del 2021.

Urbet Nura: Hispano-chinese green bike

The Spanish company Urbet recently presented its latest electric motorcycle: the Nura. This electric motorcycle was designed in Spain and is currently produced in China but will soon have a production line in Malaga. This motorcycle, which can be ridden with an A1 driving licence, has a power output of 8 kW (peak power 15 kW) and a top speed of 140 Km/h. The battery has a capacity of 7.2 kWh and should give a range between 120 and 190 Km depending on the riding style. With its tubular steel frame, the Nura has a weight of about 150 kg. The swingarm is made of aluminum, the bike is equipped with ABS and dual front disc brakes. As reported on the website the starting price is just over 7000 euros.

L’azienda spagnola Urbet ha recentemente presentato la sua ultima motocicletta elettrica: la Nura. Questa moto elettrica è stata progettata in Spagna attualmente è prodotta in Cina ma presto avrà una linea di produzione anche a Malaga. Questa motocicletta che può essere guidata con una patente A1 (quella per i 125cc), ha una potenza di 8 kW (potenza di picco 15 kW) e una velocità massima di 140 Km/h. La batteria ha una capacità di 7,2 kWh e dovrebbe peremettere un’autonomia tra i 120 e 190 Km in base allo stile di guida. Con il suo telaio in tubolare d’acciaio, la Nura ha un peso di circa 150 chilogrammi. Il forcellone è in alluminio, la moto è dotata di ABS e doppi freni a disco anteriori. Come riporta il sito il prezzo di partenza è poco più di 7000 euro.

Zero Labs Bronco: back to a new future

About a year ago Zero Labs introduced its restomod EV 1st gen Ford Bronco. The specs were impressive, now the company gave to the old Bronco a whole new platform. The first Zero Labs Bronco used solid axles front and rear, offered 2WD drive and 4WD, shifted via a 5 speed manual transmission and had 330 HP. This new truck has a fully independent suspension in front and rear, an automatic transmission, new AWD system and up to 600 HP using dual-motor system. Zero Labs has also introduced an air suspension system that allows to make height adjustments. It’s capable of Level 3 fast charging using a 85 kWh battery pack that allows a range of about  190 miles (235 miles with the 100 kWh battery pack). Price list: starting at around $185000 for the steel body version, and at $240000 for the carbon fiber body version.

Circa un anno fa Zero Labs ha presentato il restomod EV del Ford Bronco prima generazione. Le specifiche erano impressionanti, ora l’azienda ha dato al vecchio Bronco una piattaforma completamente nuova. La prima Zero Labs Bronco utilizzava assali rigidi anteriori e posteriori, offriva trazione 2WD e 4WD selezionabile, sfruttava un cambio manuale a 5 marce ed aveva 330 CV. Questo nuovo mezzo è dotato di sospensioni indipendenti davanti e dietro, cambio automatico, una nuova trazione integrale e fino a 600 CV grazie al doppio motore. Zero Labs ha anche introdotto un sistema di sospensioni pneumatiche che permette di regolare l’altezza del corpo vettura. E’ in grado di effettuare una ricarica rapida di livello 3 utilizzando un pacco batterie da 85 kWh che permette un’autonomia di circa 305 Km (378 col pacco batterie da 100 kWh). Listino prezzi: a partire da circa 185000 dollari per la versione con carrozzeria in acciaio, e a 240000 dollari per la versione con carrozzeria in fibra di carbonio.

Voltu Rod1: electric with pleasure

Presented at the beginning of the year at the International Motorcycle Exhibition in Munich, the Californian Voltu Rod1 is another demonstration that an electric motorcycle can give great satisfaction and aspire to replace the classic ICE motorbike. The Rod1 has a 150HP engine and can exceed 250 Km/h top speed. Perhaps even more important: this bike promises a very high range, about 400 km in city traffic and over 250 Km in suburban areas. Thanks to the quick charger, the batteries can reach 50% charge in just 15 minutes and 85% charge in 30. The final version available for the market is scheduled for the end of 2020. It will be interesting to find out more about this bike and maybe even the list price.

Presentata ad inizio anno all’International Motorcycle Exhibition di Monaco di Baviera, la californiana Voltu Rod1 è un’altra dimistrazione che una motocicletta elettrica può dare grandi soddisfazioni e ambire a sostituire la classica moto con motore a combustione interna. La Rod1 ha un motore da 150 CV di potenza e può superare i 250 Km/h di velocità massima. Dato forse ancora più importante: questa moto promette un’autonomia elevatissima, circa 400 Km nel traffico cittadino e oltre 250 km nell’extraurbano. Grazie al caricabatterie rapido, le batterie possono raggiungere il 50% di carica in appena 15 minuti e l’85% in 30. La versione definitiva disponibile per il mercato è prevista per fine 2020. Sarà interessante scoprire di più su questa moto e magari anche il prezzo di listino.

The New Polestar 2 on the road

Un video interessante dal canale CarPervert su YouTube in merito alla nuova Polestar 2 (un’avversaria di Tesla costruita dal sub-brand di Volvo). Una piacevole fusione di design scandinavo e costruizione cinese (Polestar è infatti parte, come Volvo e LEVC, del gigante industriale cinese Geely)

HONDA Sports EV concept: little green coupe

Presented at the Tokyo 2017 show, it should be joined by its sister Honda e, whose platform and technology it shares, in 2022. The prototype adopted the Automated Network Assistant: the system, integrated into the on-board infotainment system, is capable of learning the driver’s habits and needs, so that it can offer optimized indications in real time. The platform of this small sports car has a rear engine and rear-wheel drive and considerable dynamic capabilities to take advantage of Honda e‘s engines with power of 100 kW (136 hp) or 113 kW (154 hp). It remains to be seen whether the battery of the sports coupe will also be the same as the 4-door citycar, with 35.5 kWh capacity and between 205 and 220 km declared range.

Presentata al salone di Tokyo 2017 dovrebbe affiancare la sorella Honda e, di cui condivide la piattaforma e la tecnologia, nel 2022. Il prototipo adottava l’Automated Network Assistant: il sistema, integrato nell’infotainment di bordo, capace di apprende le abitudini e le necessità del guidatore, così da poter offrire indicazioni ottimizzate in tempo reale. La piattaforma di questa piccola sportiva prevede motore e trazione posteriori e notevoli doti dinamiche per sfruttare i motori della Honda e con potenza di 100 kW (136 CV) o 113 kW (154 CV). Resta da capire se anche la batteria della coupé sportiva sarà la stessa della citycar a 4 porte, con 35,5 kWh di capacità e tra i 205 e i 220 km di autonomia dichiarata.

UBCO 2X2: heavy duty electric moped

It’s not designed to be fashionable, but it’s designed to accomplish a mission. The UBCO 2X2 electric moped is a tough bike built in New Zealand, designed to move with a lot of load (even the surfboard) and on not perfect road surfaces, indeed to move even where there are no roads. Durable chassis, 2 wheel drive (motors mounted in the wheel hubs) and interchangeable batteries. It is already in service in his homeland where it is rented to tourists and surfers. A vehicle that aims at efficiency without getting lost in the fashions of the moment. It could find many applications and in many places. Maximum speed of 50 Km/h (like the dear old 50cc) and autonomy of 120 Km.

Non è disegnato per essere alla moda ma è disegnato per compiere una missione. Il ciclomotore elettrico UBCO 2X2 è un mezzo tosto costruito in Nuova Zelanda, pensato per muoversi con molto carico (anche la tavola da surf) e su fondi stradali non perfetti, anzi per muoversi anche dove non ci sono strade. Telaio resistente, 2 ruote motrici (motori montati nei mozzi ruota) e batterie intercambiabili. E’ già in servizio nella sua patria dove viene noleggiato ai turisti e ai surfisti. Un mezzo che punta all’efficienza senza perdersi a seguire le mode del momento. Potrebbe trovare molte applicazioni e in molti luoghi. Velocità massima di 50 Km/h (come i cari vecchi 50cc) e autonomia di 120 Km.
